I was on my way to the children's ER this morning anyway to get Taggart's stitches removed but now we had to take Austin to the adult ER. We dropped him off first. It turns out that the crack we heard was Austin's joint dislocating and the bone breaking. The ER doctor said that he might need a pin put in. The doctor indicated it's not common for grown men to break their toes on their 2 year old son's heel. Hmm. We need to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon to find out for sure.
No, the discoloration of his big toe had nothing to do with this accident. We call that his "souvenir" from his two years in Brazil. I think we're going to start calling this his pretty foot.
